CACRC and Mission Telecom Team Up for Back-to-School Sale and Community Resource
\nFair in Baton Rouge<\/strong><\/p>\n

BATON ROUGE, La.<\/strong> \u2013 Capital Area Corporate Recycling Council (CACRC<\/a>) is hosting a Back to School Sale<\/a>
\nand Community Resource Fair tomorrow where they will provide heavily discounted, refurbished
\ndevices to local families, to ensure they have the technology needed for the upcoming school year.
\nCACRC has partnered with Misi\u00f3n Telecom<\/a> to provide low-cost broadband internet options to families.
\nAlongside the sale, the fair will offer a variety of community resources, including essential services and
\nlocal support programs, all in one convenient location.<\/p>\n

The Back to School Sale and Community Resource Fair is part of CACRC\u2019s Computers for Louisiana Families<\/a>
\nprogram which addresses the digital divide by providing affordable technology to thousands
\nof families across the state each year. CACRC has provided families with deeply discounted technology
\nsince 1996.<\/p>\n

In Louisiana, millions<\/a> of residents struggle to afford broadband and devices, with nearly one in three<\/a>
\nhouseholds lacking high-speed internet access. Nearly one in four Louisianans do not have access to a
\ncomputer and are reliant on a phone for internet access. This digital divide creates significant
\nchallenges for students, preventing them from fully participating in school activities, completing
\nassignments, and accessing essential educational resources.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe understand that access to technology can be a game-changer for students, especially when it
\ncomes to their education,\u201d said Michael Rachal<\/a>, Executive Director of CACRC. \u201cIt\u2019s not just helping
\nstudents, the entire family benefits from having a device to apply for jobs, access healthcare, or work
\nremotely. Providing affordable, refurbished devices helps bridge the gap, ensuring all families have the
\ntools they need to succeed both in life.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
