Advance Native Political Leadership Action Fund (Advance) is the only national Native-led organization building political power in Native communities through a research-informed, interconnected approach. Through leadership development, strategic convenings, storytelling, and impact research, Advance invests in a civic ecosystem rooted in Indigenous values — because when Native leaders step into power, all communities benefit.
Advance Carolina builds year-round, statewide infrastructure to grow political and economic power across North Carolina, with a focus on Black and Brown communities. From rural counties to urban centers, they connect first-time and emerging voters—particularly Black college students—to a political process that too often leaves them out, while holding elected officials accountable to a people-centered agenda.
The Alliance for Youth Action is a federated network of 21 youth-led organizations building political power among young people across the United States. Through civic engagement, leadership development, and issue advocacy, the Alliance equips the next generation to shape a more representative democracy.
The Asian American Power Network (AAPN) is a national alliance of 11 state-based organizations building electoral and governing power for AAPI communities while strengthening solidarity across communities of color. They serve as the hub for AAPI organizing knowledge, strategic coaching, and shared political strategy — equipping state-based groups to grow stronger and more durable power at the local level.
Barred Business is a grassroots organization founded in 2020 by formerly incarcerated Black women to heal, resource, and build power for justice-impacted people and their communities. Through organizing, policy advocacy, and civic engagement, they fight to change policies, transform social institutions, and advance electoral strategies — including landmark work to classify formerly incarcerated people as a legally protected class.
The Ballot Initiative Strategy Center (BISC) is the only progressive organization working across the full 360 ballot measure lifecycle — from incubation to implementation — to help state and national advocates build equitable, winning campaigns. Over 25 years, BISC has grown into a critical part of progressive infrastructure, centering people of color, queer, low-income, immigrant, and Indigenous communities while developing the tools, training, and strategy partners need to build lasting, people-centered power in the states.
The Black Alliance for Just Immigration (BAJI) Action Fund is a national organization working at the intersection of racial justice and immigrant rights, organizing Black migrants and African Americans to build collective political power. Through lobbying, research, and strategic communications, they challenge anti-Blackness in immigration systems and work with state and national legislatures to advance policies that promote justice, belonging, and a more equitable multiracial democracy.
Black Campaign School (BCS) is a leadership development and strategy training program that equips Black and multiracial leaders with the tools, networks, and political education needed to navigate today’s evolving democratic landscape. Founded by veteran political strategist Jessica Byrd, the organization combines civic education, Black history and culture, wellness, and community-building to strengthen collective power and advance long-term political change.
Black Catalyst Action provides a strategic home for Black-led C4s in the South through shared learning, relationship-building, strategic alignment, and self-directed funding to actualize the democracy our communities deserve.
Black Voters Matter (BVM) builds civic engagement and political power in predominantly Black communities by strengthening the capacity of local, community-based organizations. Their work combines direct voter engagement with long-term institutional support — equipping grassroots groups with the resources and infrastructure needed to sustain power beyond any single election cycle.
The Carolina Federation builds a new political majority in North Carolina rooted in a culture of belonging — combining deep base-building, transformative cultural work, and large-scale voter organizing across Black, Brown, and working-class communities. Since 2019, they've expanded organizing infrastructure across four counties, secured over $25 million in public funding for community priorities, and in 2024 alone knocked on nearly 64,000 doors and held over 9,000 meaningful conversations.
Citizen Action of New York is a grassroots, member-led organization that organizes across New York State to tackle the root causes of injustice and inequality — from systemic racism to corporate greed. Everyday people drive their work, fighting for bold, transformative policies that build community.

Down Home North Carolina builds multiracial working-class power in small towns and rural communities across North Carolina, weaving together different experiences to shape a democracy that serves working people, where labor is valued and food, water, and land are healthy. Combining local issue campaigns with electoral organizing, they don't just want a seat at the political table — they want working families making the decisions themselves.
Dream Defenders is a Black-led political home for young people in the South, organizing Black and Brown youth to build power and advance a vision of safety and security — away from prisons, deportation, and war, and toward healthcare, housing, and jobs for all. Founded in 2012 in the wake of Trayvon Martin's killing, they have grown from occupying the Florida State Capitol for 31 days into a movement developing the next generation of radical leaders driving lasting structural change across the South.
Emergent Fund Action (EFA) is a national rapid-response fund that moves resources in real time to BIPOC grassroots movements working at the intersections of racial, reproductive, immigrant, gender, queer, and disability justice. By mobilizing philanthropic investment and building organizational capacity, EFA fortifies frontline communities with the tools and autonomy to turn catalytic moments into lasting collective power.
EquisLabs is a research and strategy organization focused on understanding the evolving political attitudes, behaviors, and priorities of Latino voters. Founded to address critical gaps in Latino-focused research, Equis provides data-driven insights and strategic guidance to help leaders, campaigns, and institutions build authentic relationships and accountability with Latino communities. Through polling, analysis, and narrative strategy, the organization works to strengthen a more inclusive and representative political coalition for the future.

Local Progress is a movement of nearly 1,800 local elected officials advancing racial and economic justice through all levels of local government. North Carolina A. Philip Randolph Educational Fund (NCAPREF) advocates for legislation and government programs that improve the quality of life for economically disadvantaged families, with a focus on fostering self-empowerment and economic self-sufficiency. They develop technical and policy solutions to combat voter disenfranchisement and suppression, working to ensure full and equal participation in democracy for those most often shut out.
NCAAT in Action builds political power among Asian Americans and allies in North Carolina through voter education, progressive advocacy, and leadership development. They mobilize a rapidly growing community to understand their voting rights, engage in electoral and civic affairs, and become a unified force in shaping the policies and leaders that affect their lives.
New Disabled South Rising (NDSR) is the first regional disability organization in the U.S. South, building political power for disabled people through research, organizing, education, and advocacy — with a particular focus on disabled voters of color and other marginalized communities. They work to transform policies and narratives across the South to ensure disabled people have full political freedom, representation, and systemic equity in a truly inclusive democracy.
New Media Ventures invests in early-stage media, AI, and civic innovators working to build power for underrepresented communities. People's Tech Project supports grassroots movements at the intersection of social and technology justice, helping organizations develop a positive vision of how technology can contribute to a liberatory world, rather than serve as a tool of corporate and state oppression. re:power is a national training and leadership development organization dedicated to growing a powerful movement of social justice leaders rooted in liberatory, community-centered organizing. Siembra NC is a statewide base-building organization dedicated to growing the political and economic power of working-class communities across North Carolina. Rooted in immigrant justice and worker advocacy, Siembra NC organizes alongside directly impacted communities to advance policies that protect immigrant families, strengthen labor rights, and build long-term civic participation. Building on a legacy of incubating pioneering digital social change organizations, the team now applies emerging technologies and AI-driven strategies to advance social justice, human rights, and civic participation.
The Movement Politics Accelerator (MPA), a project of the State Power Action Fund, works to transform how political power is built and sustained at the state level. By partnering with state-based leaders and organizations, MPA develops innovative strategies that generate independent revenue streams to support organizing, ballot initiatives, and long-term movement infrastructure. Through this work, the organization helps strengthen sustainable political ecosystems that advance social, racial, and economic justice in communities across the country.
Straight Ahead is an abolitionist advocacy organization focused on transforming the criminal legal system through policy reform, legislative advocacy, and community organizing led by people directly impacted by incarceration. Rooted in the movement to end mass incarceration and “death by incarceration” sentencing, the organization works to advance decarceration, protect democratic participation, and build long-term power for communities impacted by carceral violence.
The Texas Organizing Project (TOP) is a membership-based organization building political and economic power for working-class Black and Latino communities across Texas. Through community organizing, civic engagement, issue advocacy, and electoral work, TOP mobilizes residents to fight for policies that improve the lives of low- to moderate-income families. Since its founding in New York in 2006, the organization has become a leading progressive force through voter mobilization, leadership development, political education, and strategic campaigns that drive meaningful policy change.
