A successful collaboration Gibson relies on to enhance program delivery is his partnership with Mission Telecom. Hood Code’s previous internet provider had unreliable coverage and spotty connections, which made for less-than-optimal classroom experiences. “We had to create a folder of things we could do that were offline, says Kim. “Thankfully, we have not needed that at all since we switched to Mission Telecom.”
“For us, the main factor is the number of students connecting simultaneously,” says Gibson. “We often have dozens of students accessing our hotspots at the same time, so a strong and reliable connection is crucial for ensuring smooth participation in coding sessions.”
The Hood Code team was also pleased that the transition from its old provider to Mission Telecom was very easy and straightforward, which is key for a small team that works in different locations.
“Mission Telecom allows our students to have seamless and immersive experiences, and the company has helped educate me about coverage areas,” says Gibson. “They are always available to help us troubleshoot.”
Less than two hours after we requested additional services during Hurricane Helene, Mission Telecom … had us up online and running.“
